The IFR capability of the H125 helicopter for single-pilot instrument flight rules (IFR) has been certified by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This milestone means that the first IFR-equipped H125 deliveries from Airbus Helicopters’ assembly line in Columbus, Mississippi, will begin in 2025.
Airbus collaborated with Moog’s Genesys Aerosystems to upgrade the H125’s cockpit and integrate a new autopilot system. Additionally, dual redundant hydraulic and electrical systems were added. The IFR capability allows pilots to operate safely in low-visibility and challenging weather conditions while reducing workload through advanced avionics and autopilot assistance.
